Harley Jane Kozak (born January 28, 1957 in Wilkes-Barre , Pennsylvania , USA ; actually: Susan Jane Kozak ) is an American film and theater actress and author .

biography

Kozak is the youngest of eight siblings; she has three older sisters and four older brothers. Her father died in 1958 when Kozak was just one year old. Her mother was forced to leave Wilkes-Barre with the family to settle first in North Dakota and later in Nebraska ( Lincoln ), where Kozak spent most of her childhood. Even as a child, Kozak gave himself the stage name Harley based on the well-known Harley-Davidson motorcycle and was already on stage at the age of five.

After graduating from Lincoln East High School in 1975, Kozak moved to New York City , where she attended NYU School of the Arts . In order to stay afloat financially, she worked as a waitress in a restaurant in Greenwich Village .

In 1981 she made her film debut in an episode of the short-lived television series Texas , and then starred in the soap opera California Clan from 1985 to 1986 (and briefly in 1989) . Her film character Mary Duvall McCormack died an unusual serial death - struck by the falling C on a hotel billboard.

In the 1990s Kozak could be won over for some independent films and low-budget productions. Her two best-known films include the horror film Arachnophobia, produced in 1990, and the drama Titanic, staged in two parts in 1996 .

In 2000, Kozak retired from acting into private life. After a short-lived first marriage to Van Santvoord from 1982 to 1983, she married Gregory Aldisert on November 29, 1997. The couple now have three children together, daughter Audrey (born March 9, 2000) and the twins Lorenzo and Giana (born May 30, 2002). You live in California today .

In 2004 Kozak made her debut as a book author in the USA with the crime thriller Dating Dead Man , as well as the work Dating is Murder: A Novel published in 2005 .
