The R2 Carrier is a RoRo - multipurpose ship type the Dutch shipping company Global Seatrade in Urk .

General

The ship type was developed by the Dutch shipbuilding company Hartman Marine Shipbuilding. It is based on the " M2 Runner " type of ship, also developed by Hartman Marine Shipbuilding . The model ship is the Baltic , which was delivered in July 2017 , a second ship is under construction.

The hull of the type ship was built on behalf of Neptune Marine Projects at the Polish shipyard Partner Shipyard and towed to Hartman Marine Shipbuilding for the final equipment at the end of March 2017.

The type ship is being chartered by the Danish company Ocean 7 Projects.

The drive of the type of ship by a four-stroke - six-cylinder - diesel engine the manufacturer Wärtsilä (type: 6L20) with 1,200  kW power . The motor acts on a controllable pitch propeller via a gearbox . The maximum speed of this type of ship is 13  knots .

A generator with 680 kW power (850  kVA apparent power ) and a diesel generator with 220 kW (275 kVA apparent power) are available for power generation. An identical diesel generator was installed for port and emergency operations.

The ship type has a transverse thruster control system in the bow and stern area (with 350 and 250 kW output).

The deckhouse is in the forward area of ​​the ship type. This means that particularly high loads can be carried without restricting the view of the bridge . The deckhouse continues to offer protection from overflowing water.

There is a hold behind the deckhouse . On the top of the tank , the room is 49 meters long and 12 meters wide; at the level of the main deck, it is 69.30 meters long and 12.50 meters wide. The room is 8.30 meters high. It can help a tween decks are divided, consisting of six pontoons. The intermediate deck can be hung in two heights. The cargo space can be closed with eleven pontoon hatch covers. The resulting weather deck is 80 meters long and 15 meters wide. Hatch covers and intermediate deck pontoons can be moved using a hatch cart. For the transport of particularly voluminous and excessively high cargo, the ship can drive with the hatches open.

588 m² of space are available on the tank ceiling. The tank top can be loaded with 15 t / m². Up to 759 m² of space can be made available through the intermediate deck. The intermediate deck pontoons can be loaded with 5 t / m². A maximum of 1,200 m² of space is available on the weather deck. The hatch covers can be loaded with 3.5 t / m².

At the stern there is a 6 meter long RoRo ramp from which the intermediate deck can be reached. The ship type is equipped with a 19-meter-long anchor pole so that rolling cargo can also be handled at pier facilities that are not intended for RoRo handling.
