Hartmut Krausser

Hartmut Krausser (born January 8, 1950 in Erfurt ) is a former German diplomat who was the last ambassador to Guinea from 2011 to 2015 .

Life

After graduating from high school , Krausser did his military service as a regular soldier in the German Armed Forces from 1969 to 1971 and was most recently promoted to lieutenant in the reserve . He then studied law at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen and passed his first state examination in 1976 . After the subsequent legal clerkship and the second state examination, he worked as a lawyer from 1978 to 1980 and was admitted to the Frankfurt am Main Regional Court .

In 1980 he entered the foreign service and, after completing his career examination in 1982, first worked in the Foreign Office and from 1985 to 1987 in the permanent mission to NATO . Afterwards he was permanent representative of the ambassador in Ghana , before he returned to the headquarters of the Foreign Office between 1989 and 1992. Between 1992 and 1996 he was Consul General Head of the Consulate General in Porto and then again worked in the Foreign Office.

Between 2000 and 2003 was Krausser as Counselor Head of the Press Department of the Embassy in France and after a subsequent reuse in the Foreign Office 2007-2011 Deputy Head of Mission in Austria .

Hartmut Krausser was ambassador to Guinea until August 2015, where he succeeded Karl Prinz , who in turn became the new ambassador to the Ivory Coast . On September 9, 2011, he handed over his credentials to Alpha Condé , President of Guinea. In 2015 he was retired and replaced as Ambassador to Guinea in September 2015 by Matthias Veltin .
