Hartmut Rosenau

Hartmut Rosenau (born September 6, 1957 in Stipshausen ) is a Protestant theologian .

Life and work

From 1964 to 1967 he attended the Evangelical Johann-Hinrich-Wichern-Schule (elementary school) in Krefeld and from 1967 to 1977 the modern-language grammar school on Moltkeplatz . At the same time as attending grammar school from 1975 to 1977, he learned the subjects of classical guitar, flute, orchestra and music theory at the youth music school in Krefeld as part of a specialist training course. From 1977 to 1982 Rosenau studied Protestant theology, philosophy and educational sciences at the Bergische University - Wuppertal University with the completion of the first state examination for teaching at secondary level II. From September 1979 to August 1982 he was a student assistant and tutor with Ulrich Browarzik . As a research assistant and tutor with Ulrich Browarzik (September 1982 - March 1985), he wrote a dissertation on the topic of The Difference in Christological Thinking Schelling , which in 1985 received the 1st prize of the Society of Friends of the Bergische University.

From 1982 to 1984 the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes supported Rosenau as a doctoral scholarship holder . On October 18, 1984 he was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD . As a research assistant in Wuppertal with Martin Schloemann (April 1985 - September 1994) he wrote a habilitation thesis on the subject of universal reconciliation. A transcendental theological fundamental attempt , presented to the theological faculty of the Philipps University of Marburg . On July 12, 1991 he completed his habilitation in systematic theology. On October 16, 1991 he was appointed private lecturer in systematic theology. From 1991 to 1994 he was a professor and lecturer in systematic theology at the universities of Marburg , Wuppertal and Hamburg . From October 1994 to September 2000 he taught Protestant theology / systematic theology at the Gerhard Mercator University in Duisburg as a university professor . Since October 2000 he has been teaching as a university professor for systematic theology with a focus on dogmatics and director at the Institute for Systematic Theology at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität Kiel . From 2001 to 2011 he was, alongside forensic doctor Hans-Jürgen Kaatsch, spokesman for the local inter-faculty center for ethics. On November 27, 2005, he was ordained a pastor in the honorary office (University Church of the Christian-Albrechts-University Kiel) of the North Elbian Evangelical Lutheran Church in Schleswig Cathedral . From July 2006 to July 2008 and from July 2010 to July 2011 he was Dean of the Faculty of Theology. From July 2008 to July 2012 he was a member of the Senate of Kiel University.

Since September 2018, he has succeeded Christiane Tietz as chairman of the German-speaking section of the International Bonhoeffer Society for Securing the Legacy and Promoting Research .

Hartmut Rosenau is known for his development of a sapiential theology.
