Hasan Habib (born April 19, 1962 in Karachi , Pakistan ) is a professional American- Pakistani poker player .
Career
In his younger years, Habib was the national tennis champion in Pakistan . When he was 18, he moved to the United States , where he studied business administration at the University of Redlands . He was also the owner of an international video rental chain . He started playing poker in 1985 and took part in the first tournaments three years later.
In the $ 25,000 Championship of the World Poker Tour 2004 , he finished second behind Martin De Knijff and won $ 1,372,223 . At the 2004 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas , he won a bracelet in the $ 1,500 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo Split and $ 93,060 in prize money. In October 2005 Habib won online under his nickname Snow Leopard , a $ 530 no-limit Texas Hold 'em tournament at the World Championship of Online Poker on the platform PokerStars . He managed to win over a field of 3,062 players and received $ 306,200 for it. The next year he managed to get back to the final table of the $ 25,000 WPT Championship tournament. He was eliminated in third and won $ 896,375. To date, he has made 26 money finishes at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, finished second in the $ 2,500 Omaha High / Low tournament in 2000 , and fourth in the main event that year, where he won $ 326,000.
