Hasenreuth was a hamlet on the inner-German border that was destroyed in the course of the GDR's border security.

Today Hasenreuth lies on the border between Saxony and Bavaria. The area can only be reached via hiking trails and side paths. From the Bavarian side, Trogenau , municipality of Regnitzlosau , is the closest town in the Upper Franconian district of Hof ; from the Saxon side, it is the places Gassenreuth and Sachsgrün , municipality of Triebel / Vogtl. in the Vogtland district. The border line there is very angular, the Saxon area protrudes far into the Bavarian area, former buildings were even on both sides of the border line. Today there are only traces of the terrain and remains of building material from the former location, as well as a house well. An apple tree and some garden flowers come from earlier gardens.

Hasenreuth emerged as a scattered settlement late and was first mentioned in a document in 1750. Three cottages with farms have survived . As a district, Hasenreuth belonged to the manor and later to the community of Sachsgrün. In 1834 the place had 14 inhabitants, in 1937 there were 15. According to the plans of 1952 to expand the border security measures, the buildings were demolished and the remaining nine inhabitants from two farming families were forcibly resettled in the " Ungeziefer " campaign. As part of the “Hiking Trail to Places of Fate”, the former hamlet received on-site information boards in 2015 and 2017. a. further to the desert of Troschenreuth and the triangle of three countries . The area is part of the Green Belt and a nature reserve .
