Hateform is a Finnish death and thrash metal band from Turku that was formed in 2004.
history
The band was founded in April 2004 by guitarist Tomy Laisto, bassist Joni Suodenjärvi and drummer Tuomas Vähämaa. A short time later, singer Petri Nyström joined the cast. Together they developed the first songs and played their first gig in June of the same year. In September Ville Vänni joined as a second guitarist. This was followed by the first small tour with Insision , Godhate and Death du Jour in October 2004. Towards the end of February 2005 the band went to the Fantom Studio to record their first self-titled demo, which attracted the attention of some smaller labels. At the beginning of 2006 guitarist Vänni left the band and was replaced in February 2006 by Tom Gardiner ( Solution .45 ). In September the second demo Retaliate was recorded in Fantom Studio and voted demo of the month by Soundi and Inferno magazine. Towards the end of the summer of 2007, the band signed a contract with 7:45 Records .
On the weekends of October and November 2007, the band recorded their debut album, which was released in late January 2008. In February a small tour of Finland followed with Legion of the Damned , The Scourger and Axegressor . In April 2009 the first foreign appearances followed in Sweden with Nattas . In August, the band split from drummer Tuomas Vähämaa, who was replaced by Tuomo Latvala ( Torture Killer , Demigod ). At the beginning of January 2010 the recordings for the second album Origins of Plague followed , which was released on October 6th. Upon release, the group held a tour of Finland with Dead Shape Figure and Full Scale Conflict . In August 2011 the band signed a contract with Spinefarm Records .
style
The band plays an aggressive mix of Thrash and Death Metal, and the music can in part be compared to the early works of Arch Enemy .
