The main street is a street in the town of Merkendorf in the Franconian Lake District ( Middle Franconia ).

The main street runs from north to south through the old town and the suburbs . It starts at the Upper Gate . In the middle of the old town, the main street widens to the market square . After the lower gate , the main street in the suburb runs as part of the state road 2220 to the federal road 13 . After crossing the B 13, the street is called Hirschlacher Straße. There are numerous architectural monuments and retail stores in the main street.

In 2007 and 2008, the main road was renewed with new paving, wider sidewalks and tree planting.
