House Laval

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Laval House (also First House Laval as a distinction to the Laval line from the House of Montmorency ) appears for the first time in the 9th century. The last male member, Guyonnet, Sire de Laval, died in 1211. His sole heiress was his sister Emma de Laval, who seven years later married the second Connétable Mathieu II. De Montmorency . Although the family did not acquire a higher title of nobility, they played a significant role in the history of early France due to their numerous family ties - including the English and French royal families.
