The Hauswalder Bach , alternatively also known as the Hauswalder Dorfbach , is an approximately 3.9 kilometers long left tributary of the Große Röder in the Saxon town of Großröhrsdorf .

The Hauswalder Bach rises on the northeastern edge of Großröhrsdorf, on the southern foothills of the 385 meter high Krohnenberg . The stream runs through the Hauswalde district into the Bretnig district and roughly follows the course of State Road 56. The Hauswalder Bach flows into the Große Röder at the former Bretniger brewery.

A street in Hauswalde is called Am Hauswalder Bach .

Due to the fact that the Hauswalder Bach mostly runs through built-up area, large parts of the river bed are artificially fortified, and in places the water is also piped.

In July 2012, due to a thunderstorm with amounts of precipitation of up to 70 mm per square meter, the Hauswald creek flooded within a few hours. Due to the strong current and the mud that was carried along, large parts of the river bank wall were badly damaged and partially completely destroyed.

Kennel vom Hauswalder Bach

Since 1972 there has been a kennel for German Shepherds in Bischofswerda with the kennel name Vom Hauswalder Bach . The name after the brook is based on the breeder's residence at that time in Hauswalde near the water. Sheepdogs Vom Hauswalder Bach successfully participated in winning and pedigree dog shows during the GDR as well as after the fall of the Wall .
