Havre is an American city in Hill County in the US state of Montana . It has about 10,000 inhabitants and is the seat of a county administration ( County Seat ).
The eighth largest city of Montana is around 45 miles from the Canadian border. Havre, whose name comes from the French city of Le Havre , was founded in 1893 by James J. Hill on the Spokane – Minneapolis / Saint Paul railway .
