Heaven was an Australian hard rock band formed by singer Allan Fryer in 1980 in Sydney . After three studio albums, the group broke up in 1985. In 2001 Heaven reformed to support Judas Priest on their tour of Australia .

history

Allan Fryer applied to AC / DC in 1980 to succeed the late singer Bon Scott , but did not get the bid. With Heaven, he founded his own band, whose music style was comparable to that of AC / DC. In 1982 the debut album Twilight of Mischief was released . On the 1983 album Where Angels Fear to Tread Mick Cocks, former guitarist of Rose Tattoo , could be heard. Heaven moved to Los Angeles and did concerts supporting Judas Priest, Black Sabbath and Kiss . The album Knockin 'On Heaven's Door , released in 1984 by Columbia Records , was based on Glam Metal , the cast included Mitch Perry (guitarist for Steeler ). The hoped-for commercial success did not materialize, however, and after various line-up changes, Heaven broke up in late 1985.

In 2001 Allan Fryer reformed the band as the opening act for Judas Priest on their tour of Australia. In June 2012 the band line-up was revived with Joe Turtur, Laurie Marlow, John Haese and Allan Fryer for another tour of Australia. Mitch Perry was first announced as guitarist, but he had to cancel because of his engagements in Lita Ford's band . Rowan Robertson, Dio's former guitarist, stepped in for him . Allan Fryer died in June 2015 as a result of a long-standing cancer.
