Lita Ford
Lita Rossana Ford (born September 19, 1958 in London , England ) is a British rock singer and guitarist who was best known in the 1980s.
Life
Lita Ford became internationally known with the band The Runaways , from which well-known solo musicians such as Joan Jett emerged . After the runaways disbanded in 1979, she started her solo career.
In 1987 she recorded the duo Close My Eyes Forever with Ozzy Osbourne , which became a hit. The song is included on their 1988 album Lita .
Ford was married to Chris Holmes , guitarist for the band WASP , from 1986 to 1992 . In 1994 she married Jim Gillette , the former singer of the band Nitro. She has two sons with him. In February 2011, she announced in a radio interview that the divorce war she had previously fought with Gillette had significantly influenced the songwriting for her album Living Like a Runaway . Her short affair 1986/86 with Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath) she described in her 2014 biography "Living Like A Runaway: A Memoir" as painful. Iommi is said to have beaten and mistreated the musician several times. The Black Sabbath guitarist, on the other hand, processed his experience with the guitarist and singer in the song "No Stranger To Love", which appeared on the studio album "Seventh Star" in 1986 and was released as a video clip.
In 2016 the album Time Capsule was released with the help of numerous prominent musicians such as Gene Simmons and Billy Sheehan . At the same time, Ford announced that there would definitely be another studio album after that.
A figure in the video game Brütal Legend for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 is based on Lita Ford and not only bears the name, but also her appearance.
