(39748) Guccini is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 28 January 1997 by the Italian astronomer Luciano Tesi and Gabriele Cattani at Pistoia Mountains Astronomical Observatory ( IAU code 104) on the Pian dei Termini in the Italian region of Tuscany was discovered .
The asteroid is a member of the Brangäne family, a group of asteroids named after (606) Brangäne .
(39748) Guccini was named on June 13, 2006 after the Italian cantautore and writer Francesco Guccini (* 1940), whose lyrics are known for their poetic processing of historical events.
