The Heidberge , also called Teterower Heidberge , near Teterow in the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania district of Rostock are up to 100.4  m above sea level. NHN high and wooded terminal moraines and hilly landscape in the back country of the Mecklenburg Lake District .

Most of the Heidberge are located in the Mecklenburg Switzerland and Kummerower See Nature Park in Mecklenburg Switzerland to the northwest of the town center of Teterow . The south and south-east of the hilly landscape belongs to the urban area of ​​Teterow, the south-west to the community of Groß Roge, the north-west to the community of Dalkendorf and the north to the community of Thürkow . About 4 km east of the Heidberge is the 3.36 km² large Teterower See , which is traversed by the Small Peene (Teterower Peene) .

Surveys

The highest (unnamed) elevation ( 100.4  m ) of the Heidberge is east of Mieckow in the municipality of Groß Roge. To the north of it, southeast of Appelhagen, in the municipality of Dalkendorf in the Korte Pust corridor, there is a 95  m high (nameless) elevation and a little northeast of it the 73.4  m high Langer Berg . In the northern foothills of the landscape in the municipality of Thürkow is the Vierruthenberg ( 48.3  m ). To the south-east of the highest elevation of the Heidberge there is an (unnamed) elevation ( 92.7  m ) with the memorial in the Heidberge in the urban area of ​​Tetrow .

Natural allocation

The Heidberge belong within the Northeast German Lake District , a large natural area of ​​Germany , in the main natural area backland of the Mecklenburg Lake District (74) to the subunit Upper Peene Area (with Teterower and Malchiner Basin) (741).

Protected areas

Large parts of the Heidberge are designated as the Teterower Heidberge nature reserve ( CDDA no. 165854; 1990; 1.98  km² in size). In the parts of the landscape are the protected landscape Mecklenburg Switzerland and Lake Kummerow Nature Park (Güstrow) (CDDA No. 322929;. 1962 expelled; 284.16 square kilometers).

Cenotaph in the Heidberge

In the south of the Heidberge stands the memorial in the Heidberge on a 92.7  m high elevation . It was built in 1927 to a design by the architect Paul Korff in honor of the soldiers of Teterow who died in World War I (1914–1918). The reinforced concrete structure has an external cladding made of hard-fired bricks and represents a sword stuck in the ground. It stands on the site of a lookout tower planned before the war and is 21 m high. From its viewing platform , you can see Teterow and the surrounding area.

Infrastructure, traffic and hiking

The federal highways 104 in the south and 108 in the east lead past the Heidberge . Both streets meet in Teterow. There branches off from the B 108 which passes through the hills Kreisstraße  from 30 there as Appel Haeger Chaussee in northwest towards Appelhagen leads (Dalkendorf).

Teterower Bergring : Starting slope (2011)

In 1930, the Teterower Bergring was inaugurated in the east of the Heidberge , a grass racing track for motorcycles that attracts thousands of spectators every year to the mountain ring race on Whitsun.
