Heidenreich Ludwig Droste zu Vischering (born before 1678; † March 23, 1723 in Münster ) was canon and cathedral scholaster in the prince-bishopric of Münster.

Life

Origin and family

Heidenreich Ludwig Droste zu Vischering grew up as the son of the married couple Heidenreich Droste zu Vischering (1616–1678) and Anna Lülsdorf zum Haan (1625–1710) together with his siblings Adolf Heidenreich († 1724), Christoph Heidenreich (1652–1724) and Jobst Gottfried († 1729) in one of the oldest and most important Westphalian noble families . Numerous Catholic dignitaries have emerged from this family. For more than two hundred years she was also the official resignation in the offices of Ahaus and Horstmar.

Career

On May 2, 1664, Heidenreich Ludwig was ordained as a subdeacon with the tonsure . He studied for two years at the University of Freiburg and in 1669 became Dompräbendar through the renunciation of his predecessor Ferdinand von Bocholtz, in whose possession he remained until it was handed over to his nephew Heidenreich Matthias in 1721. He also had these rights at Osnabrück Cathedral, which he also transferred to his nephew. On April 5, 1669, he was sworn to the Droste, Lülsdorf, Raesfeld and Quadt families . From 1684 he was archdeacon in Stadtlohn . After the election of Friedrich Christian von Plettenberg as bishop , he received the obedience of Lembeck and after the bishop's death on July 24, 1687, he was appointed assessor of the landscape pennies chamber. The election to the cathedral scholaster followed on September 4, 1687. Droste accepted the office and asked to be allowed to keep his archdeaconate in Stadtlohn. The episcopal confirmation came on September 24, 1689. The question of the compatibility of the offices of cathedral scholaster / archdeacon was left open. Heidenreich Ludwig did not want to renounce the archdeaconate because the income from the scholastics was low. In May 1699 he did so anyway, because after the death of Wilhelm von Fürstenberg he wanted to have the archdeacon Billerbeck in his hands. On April 25, 1690 he was appointed president of the court chamber . After the unsuccessful candidacy for the election of the provost of the cathedral in 1700, he became a clergyman father and apostolic syndic of the Capuchin convent of Münster a year later and in 1703 cathedral senior and president of the episcopal chamber. On May 5, 1722, he appointed his brothers Adolf Heinrich and Jobst Gottfried Adrian and his nephew Adolf Heinrich (* 1692) as executors. Heidenreich Ludwig died on the morning of March 23, 1723.

Others

In July 1683 Heidenreich Ludwig was on the road as cathedral capitular deputy in the Werne office when he caught a big bear on a hunt, which the cathedral chapter gave him for free.
