Heiko Steffens

Heiko Steffens (born April 11, 1938 in Oldenburg ) is a German educator and economist. Until 2003 he headed the department of industrial studies / economics at the TU Berlin, where he had been appointed professor since 1981. Between 1995 and 2001 he was President of the Consumers' Association .

Life

After graduating from the Arndt-Gymnasium in Krefeld Steffens worked from 1958 to 1959 in a car repair shop He then studied until 1962 at the of Hilde Körber led Max Reinhardt School of Drama . In the following two years he was engaged as an actor on various stages. In 1966 he passed the first state examination for teacher training at the University of Education in Berlin and in 1969 the second state examination at the Siegburg school authority . In the following four years he taught at a secondary school in Bad Honnef . With a scholarship from the Volkswagen Foundation , he completed a supplementary course in "Educational Sciences" from 1971 to 1972 at the Faculty of Education and Economics at the University of Münster . Until 1974, Steffens was a research assistant at the chair for economics and its didactics with Friedrich-Wilhelm Dörge at the Pedagogical University of Westphalia-Lippe in the Bielefeld department. With the dissertation career choice and career choice preparation - on the theory and practice of a field of work and economics , he received his doctorate in educational sciences in 1974 at the Pedagogical University of Westphalia-Lippe in Münster with Dietmar Krafft . In 1975 he was appointed professor for industrial studies / economics at the University of Education in Berlin . In addition, from 1970 to 1989 he worked for the WDR school television as a screenwriter, presenter, actor and author. From 1992 to 2004 he was the deputy chairman of the consumer association in Berlin and from 1995 to 2001 he was president of the working group of consumer associations.
