The Church of the Holy Moorish Martyrs is the Roman Catholic parish church in the Bergstein district of the municipality of Hürtgenwald in the Düren district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).

The church is registered under no. 5 in the list of architectural monuments in Hürtgenwald .

history

The first church in Bergstein already existed around 1198. Since then, the place has probably also been an independent parish . The Brandenberg and Zerkall branches still belong to this parish today . The church is a Gothic - Baroque hall building with a bell tower in front of it in the west and a choir closed on three sides in the east. The bell tower is the oldest part of the church. This was in 15./16. Century erected. The nave was built in 1721. In 1807 the church was extended to the east.

Furnishing

In the church there are windows by an unknown artist from the post-war period. These represent the seven sacraments .
