Zerkall is a district of the municipality of Hürtgenwald in the Düren district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ) and has about 200 inhabitants. Geographically, the village is located at the mouth of the Kall creek into the Rur . It is located on the northeastern edge of the Eifel National Park .

economy

Zerkall is known for its paper mill. Paper has been produced there since the end of the 19th century . Since 1920, handmade paper has been sold worldwide under the registered trademark ZERKALL-BÜTTEN. This is a large employer in the region and is still managed by the Renker family.

Zerkall is no less well known because of his recording studio. In 1982 Kurt Renker and Walter Quintus opened the CMP studio , in which world-famous musicians were recorded.
