Heimboldshausen is a district of the market town of Philippsthal (Werra) in the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district in eastern Hesse .

geography

The village is located northwest of Philippsthal. The Werra flows east of Heimboldshausen . State road 3172 and federal road 62 run through the village .

history

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1226. In this document a Henricus de Hemboldishusen is mentioned. The spelling of the place name changed several times over the centuries: Heinbolddishusin (1279), Eyboldtishusin (1330), Heimoldeshusen (1399), Hemelshausen (1509), Hoemeltshausen (1553), Heymbolzhausen (1579) and Heimboltshaußen (1673). Historically, the place belongs to the Landecker Amt .

On August 1, 1972, as part of the regional reform in Hesse, the previously independent community of Heimboldshausen was merged with five other locations to form the new community of Philippstal.

traffic

Heimboldshausen became the junction of the Gerstungen – Vacha Kalibahn , which has been in operation since 1905, and the Bad Hersfeld – Heimboldshausen railway line . The local public transport is now operated by ÜWAG Bus GmbH with the 340 line.
