Röhrigshof is a district of the market town of Philippsthal (Werra) in the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district in East Hesse . The Nippe farm belongs to the village.

geography

The village is west of Philippsthal. The Werra flows north of Röhrigshof . The federal highway 62 runs between the river and the village . The railway tracks of the disused Hersfeld Kreisbahn run in the same direction .

history

The village is mentioned as early as the 13th century under the place name Rorehes . The name changed several times: Rorehes, Roeres, Reres, zum Röres, Röhreß, Röhrich, Hof Röhrigs and Röhrigshöfe to today's Röhrigshof.

On August 1, 1972, as part of the regional reform in Hesse, the previously independent municipality of Röhrigshof was merged with five other places to form the new municipality of Philippstal.
