Heimito von Doderer Society

The Heimito von Doderer Society , founded in 1995, is dedicated to the promotion and presentation of Heimito von Doderer's work . The founders were Ulrich Janetzki , Kai Luehrs-Kaiser , Matthias Meyer , Wolfgang Rath, Andreas Solbach, Gerald Sommer and Sonja Vandenrath.

The Doderer Society is based at the Berlin Literary Colloquium . The current chairmen of the society are: Gerald Sommer, Thorsten Steinmann (deputy) and Matthias Meyer (treasurer), Wendelin Schmidt-Dengler (1996) and Kai Luehrs-Kaiser (2008) were appointed honorary chairmen . The Doderer Society has 211 members (as of 12/2010) from 14 countries in Europe and overseas.

Main areas of activity

The Doderer Society provides the public with comprehensive and expert information on the life and work of the Austrian author. Her main areas of activity are the academic processing of Doderer's work and the publicizing of the author and the work. The scientific processing takes place within the framework of the organization of symposia and conferences, the publication of the writings of the Heimito von Doderer Society and the mediation of international contacts and collaborations. The organization of readings and exhibitions, the promotion of contacts between Doderer readers and their website , which, in addition to basic information such as a short vita and catalog raisonné, also offers audio samples from some and read samples from all of Doderer's works published in book form, as well as a discussion forum serve to popularize the author and work .
