Hein Thorn Prikker

Heinrich "Hein" Thorn Prikker (born January 6, 1911 in Hagen ; † 1998 ) was a German motorcycle racer .

Career

His Dutch parents lived in Hagen from 1910, his father Johan was an artist and was best known for stained glass , mosaics and murals . Hein Thorn Prikker came to the racing department as a bicycle mechanic after being hired at Imperia via motorcycle production. There he was initially a racing mechanic with Ernst Loof , but from 1935 he also took part as a driver in various races, where he was able to achieve a few podium positions as a private driver until 1939.

After the Second World War , Thorn Prikker took part in motorcycle races again as a private rider and was also able to achieve some victories. His greatest successes were the championship titles in the German motorcycle road championship in the 250 cm³ class in 1951 and 1952 on Moto Guzzi . In his only appearance in the motorcycle world championship on July 20, 1952 at the German Grand Prix at the Solitude in Stuttgart , Thorn Prikker finished second in the quarter liter race behind Rudi Felgenheier ( DKW ) with his Guzzi .

In 1954 Hein Thorn Prikker ended his racing career after a serious accident.
