Heinrich Böhmer (painter)

Heinrich Böhmer , also Heinrich Böhmer the Elder (born May 5, 1852 in Düsseldorf ; † 1930 ibid), was a German landscape painter from the Düsseldorf School .

Life

From 1876 Böhmer studied painting at the Düsseldorf Art Academy , initially with Andreas Müller , Heinrich Lauenstein and Peter Janssen . From 1878 to 1883 he was a student in the landscape class of Eugen Dücker , from 1881 as his master student . Böhmer preferred to paint forest landscapes from the Harz Mountains , the Eifel , the Vogelgebirge and the Odenwald , which he had previously recorded in studies. He was regularly represented in exhibitions in Düsseldorf and Berlin. Böhmer was a member of the General German Art Cooperative , the Association of Düsseldorf Artists for Mutual Support and Help (VdDK) and the artists' association Malkasten in Düsseldorf (1883–1922 / 1923). Bohmer's son of the same name was also a painter.
