Heinrich Dinkelbach

Heinrich Dinkelbach (born January 12, 1891 Mülheim an der Ruhr ; † February 25, 1967 in Düsseldorf ) was a German industrial manager and a key player in the introduction of equal participation in the West German coal and steel industry .

Live and act

Heinrich Dinkelbach grew up as the son of a worker in Mülheim an der Ruhr, attended elementary school until 1905 and then completed a commercial apprenticeship in a construction business. In 1909 he became an employee of the machine works Thyssen & Co. , where he was appointed authorized signatory at the age of 32 .

In 1925 he became authorized signatory of August Thyssen-Hütte and was involved in the preparations for the merger of Rheinelbe-Union, Thyssen, Phoenix and Rheinstahl to form the United Stahlwerke AG , where he became a department director in 1926. Due to his services in the decentralization of the steel giant in 1933, Dinkelbach became a deputy member of the board at the end of 1933 and a full board member in 1936.

After the Second World War , in 1946 he headed the trustee administration, which worked on behalf of North German Iron and Steel Control and aimed at unbundling the steel industry. As part of the unbundling Dinkelbach sat in cooperation with the trade unions the equal participation by the supervisory boards of the newly formed steel company, in 1951 in Montan Co-Determination Act has been committed.

Heinrich Dinkelbach was involved in numerous social projects in the Holy Land . He was a member of the German Association of the Holy Land . In 1950 he was accepted into the Knightly Order of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem by Cardinal Grand Master Nicola Cardinal Canali and invested in the Papal Lay Order on December 7, 1950 in Cologne Cathedral by Archbishop Lorenz Jaeger , Grand Prior of the German Lieutenancy. He belonged to the Düsseldorf Commandery.
