Heinrich Eddelbüttel

Heinrich Eddelbüttel (born November 12, 1888 in Hamburg ; † 1945 ) was a German biology didactic and racial ideologist .

After studying natural sciences and gaining his doctorate in 1911 at the University of Göttingen , he worked as an assistant there for a year before joining the Hamburg school service as a senior teacher until 1927. Then he worked as a lecturer and, from 1928, as a professor at the Pedagogical Institute for Teacher Training and at the University for Teacher Training in Rostock . After it was closed, he continued to teach at the Güstrow teacher training institute, which opened in 1942 .

In 1933 he joined the NSDAP and the NSLB and worked from Rostock in teacher training courses on racial theory throughout the empire. In November 1933 he signed the German professors' confession of Adolf Hitler . He was co-author of the new biology textbook in accordance with the National Socialist racial doctrine and published in teacher magazines. In 1945 he ended his life by suicide.
