Heinrich Konrad Stein

Heinrich Konrad Stein (born March 31, 1831 in Münster , † December 9, 1896 in Glatz ) was a German headmaster and author of a school history book that was used until 1945.

After graduating from high school in Münster (Westphalia), he attended the University of Bonn and the Academy in Münster to study philology. He received his doctorate in Münster in 1855, passed the pro facultate docendi exam that same year and completed his probationary year at the Münster high school. In July 1858 he was appointed grammar school teacher and transferred to the grammar school in Konitz , soon appointed senior teacher and in 1872 grammar school professor and in October 1874 he was transferred to the grammar school in Ratibor as vice-rector . On December 24, 1876 was the headmaster at the Catholic high school in Glatz .

Stein published a history book with the Paderborn Schöningh Verlag since the establishment of the Reich in 1871 , which was used in numerous revisions until 1945. However, it was the only textbook that was completely banned from 1934 until it was revised in 1936. In addition, Stein published on historical and philological topics, especially Sparta .
