Heinrich Leonhard

Heinrich Leonhard (born October 17, 1813 in Sulzbach near Weinheim , † July 18, 1878 in Karlsruhe ) was a German architect .

Life

Heinrich Leonhard studied at the Polytechnic in Karlsruhe , where he was a student of Heinrich Hübsch and Friedrich Eisenlohr . In 1841 he entered the Baden state service as a construction intern. This was followed by a two-year study visit to Italy and one year in Berlin. From 1846 he worked under Hübsch on the renovation of the Konstanz Minster . In 1852 he became a district building inspector, first in Waldshut , then in Lörrach , and later in Constance , where he built high-rise railroad structures from Constance to Schaffhausen. In 1868 he became a board member of the Baden building department in Karlsruhe.

He was married to Sofie Vayhinger (1824–1907).
