Heinrich Mönch (master builder)

Heinrich Mönch (* May 27, 1859 ; † after 1934 ) was a Prussian government building supervisor in the construction of railways, naval port builder at the Kaiserliche Werft Wilhelmshaven and secret senior building officer.

Life

After his studies, Heinrich Mönch worked in the early days of the German Empire, first in Berlin for the railway operations office, then for the naval port construction commission in Wilhelmshaven .

Appointed government builder, Mönch joined the Kaiserliche Werft Wilhelmshaven in 1889, where he was appointed naval port builder in 1892.

After Mönch was the construction manager of the large dry docks in Kiel in 1902 , he worked briefly again in Wilhelmshaven in 1903. In the same year, the German Emperor Wilhelm II awarded the two naval harbor builders Heinrich Mönch and Paul Moeller, who worked at the Imperial Shipyard in Kiel, with the IVth Class Red Eagle . Also in 1903 Mönch became a lecturer in the Reichs-Marineamt Berlin.

In the middle of the First World War , the Grand Duke Friedrich August von Oldenburg awarded the Privy Building Councilor and Lecturing Council in the Reichs-Marineamt Berlin Mönch the Friedrich-August-Kreuz II class in 1917 .

In addition to the shipyard expansion in Wilhelmshaven and the construction of the third port entrance there, Mönch was also involved in the " jade correction " and in the construction of the port on Heligoland . As a result of demilitarization after the First World War, Heinrich Mönch also left the service of the - dissolved - Imperial Navy and has lived in Zinnowitz since then , where he celebrated his 75th birthday in 1934.
