Heinrich Peuckmann

Heinrich Peuckmann (born July 15, 1949 in Kamen ) is a German writer and high school teacher.

Life

Heinrich Peuckmann passed his Abitur in 1968 at the Aufbaugymnasium in Unna . One of his classmates was the actor Dieter Pfaff . After studying German , history and Protestant theology in Bochum , Peuckmann worked from 1974 to 2011 as a teacher at the municipal high school in the city of Bergkamen .

His areas of work as a writer are poems, short stories, novels, essays, reports, plays, radio plays, children's books and crime novels. Two series of Peuckmann novels have become known. Even his crime series about the Commissioner Anselm Becker, along with its row with Ruhr novels (u. A. Escape to the mountain , Shadow Boxer , changing strings , empty days ). In 1988 Peuckmann was awarded the advancement award for young artists. He was a member of the working group literature .

He is a member of the PEN Center Germany , the Association of German Writers , the literary association “ Die Kogge ” and the crime authors' association “ Das Syndikat ”. At the 2013 PEN annual conference in Marburg, Heinrich Peuckmann was elected to the Presidium and on May 10, 2019 in Chemnitz as Secretary General of the PEN Center Germany. In 2006 he was visiting professor at the Tongji University in Shanghai and in 2007, 2008 and 2012 at the Foreign Language University Jiaotong University in Xi'an .

Peuckmann is the father of three sons and lives in his birthplace Kamen in North Rhine-Westphalia .
