Heinrich Schaefer (also Henri Schaefer and Heinrich Schäfer ; born May 15, 1851 in Uelzen , † after 1908) was a German pedagogue , school director and school councilor of the Hanover province .

Life

Heinrich Schaefer first attended the high school in his hometown of Uelzen and graduated from Lyceum I in Hanover from 1861 to 1870 . From Easter 1870 to 1873 he studied ancient languages ​​and German in Göttingen and Heidelberg. As a result, he worked from Michaelis 1873 to 1874 as a trial candidate and at the same time academic assistant teacher at the Johanneum in Lüneburg . On October 1, 1874, he was appointed to the Lyceum II in Hanover , where he was a full teacher, from October 1888 as a senior teacher, from Easter 1893 as a professor and finally from 18 August 1896 to 1 April 1904 as director.

On April 1, 1904, Heinrich Schaefer was appointed Provincial School Council in Hanover. In this function, for example, he traveled from Hanover to Hildesheim on April 19, 1906 , to introduce Franz Jacobi to his office as the new director of the Andreaneum .

Heinrich Schaefer, together with Albert Schuster and Wilhelm Fiehn, was the author of the German reading book for higher education institutions, which was published in numerous editions in the Helwingschen Verlagsbuchhandlung .

The address book, city and business manual of the royal residence city of Hanover and the city of Linden for the year 1908 stated the office hours of the royal provincial school council and member of the royal provincial school college for 6 days. Schaefer, who last lived privately at Lärchenstrasse 12 , was no longer listed in the address book in 1909.
