Heinrich Schaub (politician, 1915)

Heinrich Schaub (born September 25, 1915 in Willingshausen , † after 1995) was a German functionary of the GDR block party LDPD . He was a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR and chairman of the Cottbus district association of the LDPD.

Life

Schaub, the son of a miner , attended elementary school and completed an apprenticeship as a commercial clerk. He was drafted into the Reich Labor Service and military service in the Wehrmacht . From 1945 to 1950 he initially worked as an unskilled worker at the municipal utilities in Finsterwalde and as an employee of the Luckau tax office .

Schaub joined the Liberal Democratic Party of Germany (LDP, later LDPD) in 1946 and, after the elections in October 1950 to February 1952, served as mayor of the city of Luckau. Since 1951 he was a member of the central executive committee of the LDPD, later also of the political committee of the LDPD. From 1952 he was district councilor in Luckau, from September 1952 deputy chairman of the council of the Luckau district . In 1953 he was elected chairman of the Cottbus district association of the LDPD. He held this office until 1957. From March 1954, he was Deputy Chairman of the Cottbus City Council and Chairman of the Cottbus District Peace Council.

From August 1953 to 1958 Schaub was also a member of the People's Chamber . He later worked as a political assistant at the secretariat of the National Council of the National Front of the GDR in East Berlin. Schaub last lived in Berlin-Weißensee .
