Hans-Joachim Heusinger (born April 7, 1925 in Leipzig ; † June 26, 2019 ) was a German politician ( LDPD ). From 1972 to 1990 he held the post of Minister of Justice of the GDR .

Life

After attending elementary school from 1939 to 1942, the son of a worker completed an apprenticeship as an electrical mechanic and was a soldier in the Wehrmacht until 1945 .

From 1945 to 1951 he worked as an electrical mechanic and cable fitter. In 1947 he joined the Liberal Democratic Party of Germany (LDPD). From 1951 to 1952 he was a member of the council of the Leipzig- Mitte district. From 1952 to 1957 he was secretary of the Leipzig district committee of the LDPD. From 1953 to 1959 he was a member of the Leipzig and Cottbus district days and a member of the district council . From 1955 to 1960 he completed a distance learning course at the German Academy for Political Science and Law in Potsdam , where he graduated as a lawyer. From 1957 to 1959 Heusinger was director of the Cottbus Chamber of Commerce and Industry .

Since 1957 he was a member of the central board of the LDPD and its political committee. From 1959 to 1973 he was secretary of the central board and from 1972 to 1980 deputy chairman of the LDPD. From 1958 to 1961 he was also a successor candidate and from 1961 to March 1990 a member of the People's Chamber , initially as a member of the Legal Committee, from 1963 to 1973 a member of the Committee for Industry , Construction and Transport . From 1972 to 1989 he was one of the deputy chairmen of the Council of Ministers and until January 11, 1990, he was the successor of his party colleague Kurt Wünsche, Minister of Justice.

Heusinger was a member of the Society for Legal and Humanitarian Support and most recently lived in Zeuthen .
