Kurt Wünsche (born December 14, 1929 in Obernigk ) is a former German politician of the LDPD block party . He was Minister of Justice in the GDR .

Life

The son of a chemist graduated from elementary and high school in Dresden . He joined the Liberal Democratic Party of Germany and the FDJ in 1946 and was a functionary of the LDPD district association Dresden and the regional association of Saxony until 1951 . From 1951 to 1954 he was the main department head for organization of the central board of the LDPD. In connection with the events of June 17, 1953 , he was suspected of being an agent and temporarily imprisoned by the Ministry of State Security (MfS). From 1954 he was a member of the central board (ZV), the political committee and secretary of the ZV, from 1960 to 1965 deputy general secretary and since 1967 deputy chairman of the LDPD.

1954 to 1959 he completed a distance learning and in 1964 at the German Academy for Political Science and Law "Walter Ulbricht" in Potsdam after a work written together with Manfred Gerlach on the "Function and Development of the Liberal Democratic Party of Germany in the multi-party system of the German Democratic Republic " To the Dr. jur. PhD. From 1954 to 1972 he was a member of the People's Chamber , first as a member of the Youth Committee, then as a member of the Justice Committee and finally as a member of the Legal Committee. He was Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers from 1965 as the successor to Max Suhrbier and from 1967 as the successor to Hilde Benjamin, Minister of Justice. In this function he played a key role in the tightening of political criminal law in the GDR. Due to conflicts over questions of the legal system and the nationalization of private and semi-public companies, he resigned as Minister in 1972 . In 1982, the contribution to the legal textbook "Fundamentals of Justice", which was prepared by Wünsche together with Frohmut Müller , on the "basic questions of the position, function and activity of the courts, the public prosecutor's office and the legal profession in the GDR" became a dissertation B at the Academy for State - and jurisprudence Potsdam accepted.

Then he was a full professor for judicial constitutional law at the Humboldt University in Berlin . From January 11 to August 16, 1990 he was again Minister of Justice in the cabinet of Hans Modrow and later also with Lothar de Maizière .

From 1954 to 1961 Wünsche was registered as a secret informant at the GDR State Security .

Wish was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in 1958, 1965, 1979 and 1989 and in 1969 the Labor Banner .
