Heinrich Schierenberg
Heinrich Schierenberg (born June 13, 1800 in Horn , † December 3, 1851 in Detmold ) was a German politician and member of the Frankfurt National Assembly .
life and work
Heinrich Schierenberg was the son of the businessman and mayor Gotthilf August Benjamin Schierenberg. He attended the rector's school in Horn until 1815. From 1815 to 1818 he completed a commercial apprenticeship in Bremen . In the years 1818 and 1819, he attended high school in Soest , before he in Goettingen the Philology - began and studying history. To 1822 he studied in Berlin and to 1824 at the University in Heidelberg . During his studies he became a member of the old Göttingen fraternity in 1821 . In 1824/25 he was a private tutor in Frankfurt am Main and then until 1827 as a teacher at the Gymnasium Leopoldinumin Detmold. Then he became rector at the grammar school in Lemgo and held this position until 1830. In 1830 he returned to the Leopoldinum in Detmold and taught there until 1851. In 1832 he was appointed professor .
Schierenberg was a co-founder of the Natural Science and Historical Association for the Land of Lippe in 1835 . In 1838 he founded the weekly Lippisches Magazin for patriotic culture and common good together with Moritz Leopold Petri and Rudolph Brandes . In 1845 he was appointed grammar school director and first teacher of the Leopoldinum for classical literature and history. In 1848 he played a leading role in the March Revolution in the Principality of Lippe , and was elected a Lippe member of the Frankfurt National Assembly and deputy chairman of the school committee. In 1849 he was involved in the enactment of the first elementary school law. He died on December 3, 1851 in Detmold.
