Heinrich Schmidt (politician, 1899)

Heinrich Schmidt (born June 18, 1899 in Läsgen, today a district of Czerwieńsk , † after 1968) was a German functionary of the GDR block party DBD . From 1953 to 1968 he was chairman of the Cottbus district committee of the DBD and from 1954 to 1958 a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR .

Life

Schmidt, son of a bricklayer foreman and farmer, attended elementary school and learned to be a wheelwright .

In 1945 Schmidt received a new farmer position from the Land Reform Fund of the State of Brandenburg in the Drochow municipality in the Senftenberg district . Schmidt first became a member of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED) in 1947 . In 1952 he became a member of the LPG "Alliance of Working People" in Drochow, whose members elected him as chairman. In June 1948 Schmidt was one of the founding members of the Democratic Peasant Party of Germany (DBD). He became chairman of the Senftenberg district board of the DBD and a member of the Senftenberg district council. In August 1952 Schmidt was appointed a member of the secretariat of the DBD district executive committee in Cottbus. From 1953 to 1968 he was chairman of the Cottbus district board of the DBD. On the III. At the party congress of the DBD in September 1953, Schmidt was elected a member of the party executive committee and the party arbitration tribunal of the DBD.

From 1954 to 1958 Schmidt was a member of the People's Chamber. There he was a member of the Committee for Agriculture and Forestry. Then Schmidt was a member of the Cottbus district assembly and in 1967 ran again as his party's top candidate for the district assembly elections on July 2, 1967.
