Heinrich Stein (judge)

Johann Georg Heinrich Stein (born February 14, 1805 in Gießen ; † October 18, 1885 ibid) was a Hessian judge, politician and member of the Second Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Heinrich Stein was the son of the university secretary Georg Christoph Stein and his wife Susanne Johannette, née Schneider. Stein, who was of Protestant faith, married Juliane, née Lisberger (1810–1875).

Stein studied law and became an accessist at the Giessen court in 1830 . In 1835 he rose to the position of assessor at the regional court in Giessen and in 1847 became a regional judge at the regional court in Lich . In 1853 he became a district judge at the Gernsheim district court and in 1857 at the Großgerau district court . In 1865 he was appointed director of the district criminal court in Giessen and retired in 1875.

From 1861 to 1862 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency Starkenburg 13 / Gernsheim . In the estates he represented liberal-conservative positions.
