Heinrich Theodor Pagenstecher

Heinrich Theodor Pagenstecher (born November 26, 1696 in Groningen , † June 7, 1752 in Duisburg ) was a German lawyer .

Life

Heinrich was born in 1696 as the son of Prof. Arnold Alexander Pagenstecher. In 1716 he worked as a lecturer in law in Groningen . In 1719 he moved to Lingen , where he became professor of history and eloquence and associate professor of law at the Georgianum academic high school . In 1721 he took over a professorship in Hamm and in 1727 in Duisburg , where he died on June 7, 1752. After the death of his brother Johann Friedrich Wilhelm he did not accept a call to Harderwijk . Pagenstecher published several works on the writings of the Roman lawyer Sextus Pomponius , on the sentences of Pegasus in the Pandects and a collection of dissertations.

In 1721 he had Johanna Theodora van Scherpenzeel, the daughter of the Prussian resident v. Scherpenzeel, married. The two sons from this marriage, Johann Alexander Winand and Andreas Wilhelm , also embarked on an academic career.
