Heinrich von Reventlow (Major General)

Heinrich Graf von Reventlow , also Reventlou (born September 30, 1763 in Copenhagen , † January 31, 1848 in Kiel ) was a Schleswig-Holstein officer.

Life

Heinrich von Reventlow came from the older house of the Schleswig-Holstein nobility family ( Equites Originarii ) von Reventlow . He was the sixth child and fourth son of Detlev von Reventlow and his wife Margarethe, nee. von Raben , (* December 8, 1726, † September 13, 1794). Cay Friedrich von Reventlow (1753–1834) and Friedrich Karl von Reventlow (1755–1828) were his older brothers.

From 1784 he studied law at the University of Leipzig , but then took up an officer career in the Danish army. In 1788 he became sub- captain with the hussars and in 1790 with the bodyguard on horseback . In 1791 he was promoted to captain and squadron chief . In 1802 he became a major à la suite , in 1809 a lieutenant colonel and in 1812 a colonel . In 1828 he received his departure as major general .

He was landlord on Falkenberg , Wittenberg ( Martensrade ) and Kaltenhof as well as Åkær and Dybvad .

Reventlow married on May 21, 1794 at Gut Knoop Sophie Anna, b. von Baudissin (* December 20, 1778 Copenhagen, † December 22, 1853 Kiel), a daughter of Heinrich Friedrich von Baudissin and Caroline Adelaide Cornelia Komtesse Schimmelmann (1760-1826). The children of this marriage included:
