Heinz-Günther Schöttler

Heinz-Günther Schöttler (born October 16, 1950 in Adenau ) is a German Catholic theologian , priest and theology professor.

Life

After leaving school, Schöttler studied Catholic theology in Trier and Regensburg . In 1975 Schöttler obtained his diploma at the Trier Theological Faculty and was ordained a priest in Trier in 1977 .

From 1986 to 1995 Heinz-Günther Schöttler worked as a priest in the parish in Farschweiler - Herl in the Hunsrück . At the same time he was also a lecturer for homiletics at the Institute for Pastoral Psychology and Homiletics of the Trier seminary and at the Trier Theological Faculty .

Since 2000 Schöttler was Professor of Pastoral Theology and Kerygmatics at the University of Bamberg and in 2007 he moved to the University of Regensburg as Professor of Pastoral Theology .

Heinz-Günther Schöttler is a member of the discussion group Jews and Christians at the Central Committee of German Catholics and, since 2006, Ephraim-Veitel lecturer for homiletics at the liberal Abraham-Geiger-Kolleg , Berlin. He is a member of the editorial board of the theological journal Bibel und Liturgie and co-editor of Bamberger Theologische Studien and Bamberger Theologisches Forum .
