Heinz Bratschi (born August 12, 1925 in Bern ; † February 18, 1992 there ) was a Swiss politician ( SP ).

biography

Bratschi studied law at the universities of Bern and Geneva and received his doctorate in 1951. From 1951 to 1959 he was the traffic commissioner for the city of Bern and from 1960 to 1966 police inspector.

From 1958 to 1967, Bratschi was a Grand Councilor in Bern . From 1967 to 1987 he was a member of the National Council , where he was a member of the military, finance and business audit commissions.

In 1966, Bratschi was elected to succeed Eduard Freimüller on the Bern municipal council, where he was initially police director and from 1973 welfare and health director. In 1979 he lost the mayor election to Werner Bircher ( FDP ). In 1984 he was no longer nominated as a municipal councilor by the SP, but finally made it onto his own list. In 1988 he resigned.

Bratschi was involved in the commercial association and in the VPOD .

In the Swiss Army he was a colonel in the general staff .
