Eduard Freimüller
Eduard Freimüller (born August 9, 1898 in Bern ; † June 2, 1966 there , entitled to live in Bern and Humlikon ) was a Swiss politician ( SP ).
Life
Freimüller attended high school in Bern, from which he graduated with the Matura . He then studied economics at the University of Bern and received his doctorate in 1925. He became an officer in the police department of the city of Bern.
In 1922 he became a member of the SP and in 1923 of the VPOD . In 1926 Freimüller became the first social democratic governor of the district of Bern . He was a member of the local council from 1933 to 1966 and headed the police and medical directorate. From 1958 to 1966 he was Mayor of Bern. He was also the Grand Councilor of the Canton of Bern from 1934 to 1950 and National Councilor from 1943 to 1963 .
