Franz Lindt

Franz Lindt (born September 11, 1844 in Bern ; † November 17, 1901 there ) was a Swiss engineer and politician ( FDP ).

Life

Lindt attended schools in Bern and from 1862 to 1865 graduated from the engineering school of the Swiss Federal Polytechnic in Zurich. After a short stay abroad, he became an adjunct at the Bernese cantonal geometer Franz Rudolf Jakob Rohr . After he was elected to the government council in 1872, Lindt took over the office of cantonal geometer. In 1894 he was elected to the municipal council of the city of Bern , where he took over the building department. In 1895 he was also elected to the Grand Council of the Canton of Bern . After the election of the city president Eduard Müller to the Federal Council, he also took over the office of city president of Bern. In 1899 he resigned from his public office because of a brain disease.
