Otto von Büren
Rudolf Otto von Büren (born September 19, 1822 in Bern , † December 25, 1888 there , entitled to live in Bern) was a Swiss politician from the von Büren family .
Life
From 1864 to 1887 he was mayor of Bern and from 1864 to 1884 he was a member of the Swiss National Council. In addition to his work in the civic community of Bern , he was particularly committed to the city's gas and water supply. Politically, he was conservative and rejected the culture war policy of the liberal cantonal government. Ecclesiastically he represented as a leading member of the Evangelical Society within the Reformed Church to pietism and engaged for the Evangelical Alliance .
