Heinz Hamm

Heinz Hamm (born February 27, 1944 ) is a German specialist in German . He is first and foremost an expert on Johann Wolfgang von Goethe , but he also works intensively with Gotthold Ephraim Lessing's Laocoon .

Live and act

Heinz Hamm, born in 1944, studied German and Latin studies from 1962 to 1967 at the Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg . From 1967 to 1972 he was assistant to the German Studies Section. In 1972 the doctorate to Dr. phil. After teaching at the University of Paris VIII (Vincennes-Saint-Denis) from 1974 to 1975, he returned to the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg as a lecturer . In 1979 he accepted a guest professorship at the German Institute of Warsaw University, which lasted until 1983 . This was followed by a professorship for the history of German literature at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena from 1984 to 1991 . From 2000 to 2010 he worked for the Mommsen Foundation for the Advancement of Goethe Research in Palo Alto, California .

In addition to books, Hamm published numerous essays and reviews , especially in the Weimar articles and in the s: Goethe yearbook .
