Heinz Müller-Pilgram

Heinz Müller-Pilgram (born December 5, 1913 in Cologne , † November 3, 1984 in Bad Soden am Taunus ) was a German painter and draftsman.

Life and work

Heinz Müller-Pilgram noticed his artistic talent already in his childhood. That is why he dreamed of a career as an artist from an early age. At the age of 14 he left high school. Shortly afterwards, his grandfather, who was the head of the municipal theaters in Cologne, noticed the boy's talent and hired him temporarily as a volunteer in the painting studio. He later worked for the church restorer Paul Meyer-Speer and helped restore the Breslau Cathedral and the Fulda Cathedral .

In the further course of his life he devoted himself to pen drawing and drew many pictures in the Taunus . During this time he worked as a graphic designer for a chemical company. In 1944 he came to Grainau seriously injured by the help of his wife Irene . Here he immortalized the landscapes in paintings made of watercolors.

In 1961 he moved back to the Taunus with his family and initially worked in an advertising agency in Königstein im Taunus . In 1965 he moved on to Kelkheim am Taunus and worked here as a freelance artist. Three years later he made it to the Neuenhain district of Soden , where he lived until his death. In the spa town he made many pen drawings, including of the Medico Palais , the Altenhain valley and the Altenhain town hall. He also made a fresco in the Sauerbornhalle in Neuenhain and paintings in the guest room in a restaurant in Kelkheim.
