Heinz Theisen (political scientist)

Heinz Theisen (born November 25, 1954 in Langenfeld ) is a German political scientist .

Life

After high school on math and science high school in Opladen 1974 studied Theisen to 1980 political science, sociology , history and Constitutional Law at the Universities of Göttingen and Bonn , where he in 1983 with Karl Dietrich Bracher to Dr. phil. received his doctorate .

From 1984 to 1987 he was the personal assistant to the rector of the University of Bonn , where he was active in administrative and planning work and drafted speeches for the rector. From 1987 to 1990 he was a researcher and assistant to Klaus von Schubert with a focus on genetic engineering and politics and ecology and democracy at the interdisciplinary research center of the Evangelical Study Group in Heidelberg .

From 1991 to 1997 he taught as a professor of political science at the Federal University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration in Brühl and at the branch of the university in Biesenthal , where he trained public employees of the former GDR for civil service in the Federal Republic. Since 1997 he has been Professor of Political Science at the Catholic University of North Rhine-Westphalia in Cologne . From 1996 to 2002 he worked in the Transform program of the Federal Republic of Germany for construction aid for public administrations in Central and Eastern European countries. He had numerous teaching assignments in Eastern Europe , China and Palestine . He is a member of the selection committee for scholarships of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom .

Theisen is a guest author for the Axis of the Good .
