Ernst Emil Rosenørn

Ernst Emil Rosenørn (born November 7, 1810 on Dønnerup ; † August 7, 1894 ) was a Danish politician and in this capacity a member of the Landsting and Folketing for the Højre . From 1870 to 1883 he was President of Copenhagen and from September 22, 1869 to May 28, 1870 in the government of Frijs Minister of Culture of Denmark .

Family and origin

Rosenørn was born in 1810 as the fourth of four children of the landlord Cecilius Andreas Ulrik Rosenørn and his (1782-1820) wife Juliane Marie, née von Schack, (1785-1834). The date of baptism is March 27, 1811 in the Holmstrup church . The family Rosenorn is a geadeltes in the 17th century sex of the letter nobility .

On April 15, 1845, Rosenørn married Mariane Magdalene Clausine Brinck-Seidelin (1817-1884) in the Vennebjerger Hjørring Kirke . The marriage remained childless.

Life

In 1830 Rosenørn passed his A-levels at Herlufsholm and eight years later passed his legal examination. From 1838 to 1840 he stayed abroad and in 1841 bought Voergård in Vendsyssel with two others . He was the sole owner of the estate from 1865 to 1872, and from 1855 to 1871 he also owned Østergård in Salling. In 1846 he moved to Frederiksberg , where he was councilor from 1862 to 1869. In Vardekredsen , Rosenørn was a member of the Folketing from 1855 to 1864, from 1861 to 1863 a member of the Reichsrat , from 1866 to 1869 he was a member of the Folketing for the Hjertingkredsen and from 1879 to 1894 the king appointed a member of the Landsting. From 1869 to 1870 he was Danish Minister of Education for a short time and then, until 1883, Chief President of Copenhagen. In 1879 he was a member of the Landsting and in 1883 he became a secret conference councilor.
