Heinz Zander

Heinz Zander (born October 2, 1939 in Wolfen ) is a German painter , draftsman , graphic artist , illustrator and writer .

Live and act

From 1959 to 1964 he studied at the Leipzig Academy of Graphics and Book Art (with Bernhard Heisig ). From 1967 to 1970 he was a master student of Fritz Cremer at the Academy of Arts in Berlin . Since 1970 he has been working as a freelancer in Leipzig , where he also lives. Zander is part of the Leipzig School . His fields of work are painting (oil), drawing, graphics and illustration. Since 1965 he has also been active as a writer and publishes novels, stories and essays.

Zander works with painting techniques based on the old masters. Role models are Bosch , Grünewald , Altdorfer and Italian mannerists ( Pontormo , Bronzino ). He works mainly with colored resin-oil glazes .
