Helena Zubanovich

Helena Zubanovich (* before 1970 in Lubliniec ) is a Polish opera, operetta, oratorio, lieder and concert singer (dramatic mezzo-soprano ).

Life

Helena Zubanovich studied from 1988 to 1993 at the Katowice Music Academy and, as a scholarship holder, from 1994 to 1997 at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater . Ingrid Kremling was her singing teacher in the Hanseatic city . In addition, she took private singing lessons with Elio Battaglia in Turin .

Zubanovich won several singing competitions, including a. the Antonín Dvořák Competition in Karlovy Vary , the “Robert Stolz Competition” in Hamburg and the “International Singing Competition” in Palermo . In 1998 she made her debut at the Rostock Volkstheater in the role of Mimi in La Bohème . There she also had great success as Hanna Glawari in the operetta The Merry Widow . In 1999 she switched from soprano to mezzo-soprano and made guest appearances as a mezzo-soprano at the opera stages of Bern , Linz , Darmstadt , Passau , Monte Carlo , Seoul , Seville , Palermo, Osaka , Prague and at the Vienna Volksoper , where she was a permanent member of the ensemble. From 2007 to 2009 she was a member of the soloist ensemble of the Erfurt Theater . In the 2009/2010 season Helena Zubanovich was a permanent member of the ensemble at Theater Ulm . There she sang Ulrica in A Masked Ball and Herodias in Salome . In November / December 2015 she sang the Siegurne in Die Walküre , the Second Norn in Götterdämmerung and Gertrud in Hansel and Gretel at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich .

In addition to her engagement in the opera field, Zubanovich works as an oratorio, lied and concert singer. Her repertoire includes works by Johann Sebastian Bach , Johannes Brahms , Antonín Dvořák , Richard Strauss , Richard Wagner , Gustav Mahler and Maurice Ravel .
